Things we love for spring with all these incredible fruits & veggies include recipes such as soups, salads and stir fry. All these ingredients can be utilized in keeping the recipe fresh, new, and delicious. We went and visited our locals farmers market in South Florida, and fell in love with the avocados this season, so we decided to draw focus to recipes that involve the ever so popular, avocado. Personally, we think avocados can go with just about anything. It makes great toppings for a tortilla soup, a delicious spread on toast, and a great addition to any salad to give it that extra nutritional fat boost and amazing flavor.

Avocados are a great source of Vitamins C, E, K, and B-6. They contain a high nutrient value and a rich texture. Some even consider this fruit to be a ‘superfood’, which makes perfect sense due to each avocado including around 20 vitamins and minerals. A fun fact is they actually contain more potassium than a banana. (SHOCKING!) A lot of people suffer from low potassium levels and might be given a suggestion to eat more bananas, but the best answer would be to lean towards the avocado. The high potassium levels help keep blood pressure at a healthy level. Fiber, happens to be another nutrient avocados posses. They tend to be very rich in fiber which helps maintain metabolic health. A lot of people relate the avocado to being high in fat, which is definitely true, but it is the good kind of fat! Avocados contain monounsaturated fat, that helps lower cholesterol. All these benefits are incredible to keep your heart healthy and give you the energy you need for the day. Keep in mind that all things are good in moderation!

Below is a quick but great avocado recipe that we love here at Sweet Monae. Our chefs can incorporate anything you like into your recipes. You want that extra healthy fat in your diet, we got you covered!
